Lio Kuokman & Stephen Hough
SWIRE DENIM SERIES
Programme
“Whatever Stephen Hough plays, he either distils its essence or finds something strikingly new to say about it” (The Independent). Don’t miss the chance to hear the esteemed British pianist perform Saint-Saëns’ virtuosic Egyptian Concerto. HK Phil Resident Conductor Lio Kuokman brings his unique touch to this kaleidoscopic programme, which opens with Fazil Say's Grand Bazaar and concludes with Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, a monumental masterpiece inspired by the composer’s infatuation with an actress and the power of delusion.
The concert runs approximately 2 hours with an intermission.
